The Sputnik Photos Mentoring Program is an intensive course during which students, in close cooperation with mentors - Sputnik Photos photographers - work on creating their own photo series.
Together, they go through all stages of work on the project and learn about the subsequent elements of the creative process - from idea to implementation - which lead to the creation of a coherent photographic statement.
- each participant works under the supervision of one of the mentors, during monthly one-on-one, hour-long sessions;
- possibility of consultation with all mentors;
- two portfolio review sessions with all mentors;
- over 100 hours of classes.
The condition for passing the Mentoring Program will be active participation in meetings and defense of an artistic project based on the knowledge and experience gained during participation in the Mentoring Program. Everyone who meets the passing conditions will receive a certificate.
The program also includes workshops based on theoretical texts on photography, allowing for deeper reflection on the creation of original series. The final congress is organized in cooperation with Fotofestiwal in Łódź. An important aspect of the course is networking: meetings with invited guests, vernissages, book promotions.
The course ends with the implementation of the project. Selected cycles are presented in a collective publication. The book is sent to the most important institutions and cultural representatives around the world.
